Holiday Style #3 – Black &White With Pastels: Relearning

Hello my dear readership,

you want to color up your summer? No problem! Black and white with pastels as a third holiday-style alternative makes it possible. Check out the trend here.

“You live and learn”, there is no doubt of still learning – I like this term “still learning” latest since India Oxenberg’s podcast which has the same title as she underwent a horrible experience in the NXVIM cult. But since the latter refers to learn new things I want to move this particular topic to another article in the future. The topic I have in my heart right now lies in learn things we were supposed to know (as we had already learned them once) again. “I had once been able to do this, how come I am not able to do this any longer and how can I learn this ability again?”, probably we have all dealt with this question once finding ourselves having lost something important all of a sudden of which we did not realize that we lost it until we reach a certain point in a situation or our life.

Whether it is to be happy, the ability to love like high-school-girl or to feel enthusiastic about things; as we grow it somehow feels like we dull about our surroundings and repress feelings. I can really not blame anyone for this development having all the tougher-becoming hardships of life as we grow in mind that cause this effect. But at least there comes this point that we start longing for traits that got lost. That somehow made us and our life better and more worth living not only for ourselves but also for the coexistence with our fellow people. The will to learn and the recognition of learning as precious treasure and gift would be a step into the direction to be willing to learn from others but also put effort in teaching ourselves certain things again. We can only learn and grow from each other like we can only realize things thanks to other people just like this is the source of innovation. But in order to grow we must not forget what we have already learned so far.

“A variety of versatile trends for every type is surely nice to have but we should not break other trends but construct other trends on already existing ones.”

Holiday-Trend: Black & White and Pastel-Accents

Pastels are for spring only? Well, this season they last until summer and add some color for those who cannot go without them. However the secret remains in black and white being the leading light in this look. If you ask me, personally, I like the base of black and white given and would even prefer them over grey, for instance, and there are a few reasons why I would. Let us remember the trend-article from a few weeks ago: the minimalist maxi-dress – bold black – a probably long awaited dream of some of us. A variety of versatile trends for every type is surely nice to have but we should not break other trends but construct other trends on already existing ones. So therefore another reason why the black-white base is appropriate for this holiday-style is that white has been a matching contrast for the summer-trends that I have already presented you in the previous articles here and here and also would also fit in here. I would not like another option for this style as it would distract the actual meaning of the tender colorful accents in this trend.
