New Grunge – Y2K: Us, The Millenials

Hello my dear readership,

Grunge is back and has revived under the title “new Grunge” holding moreover the Y2K-style that has been a hyped trend in the 2020s. Read more here.

Education is not a matter money any longer but a matter of will.

We live in a world of endless chances. Necessity had made us the parents of invention. Yet as the world is dominated by the babyboomer-generation the progress stagnates.

Singles, self-centered, careless, laissez-faire – what prejudices did, we, the Millenials, not need to go through? We can bear a lot but what is undoubted is that there is not a more conservative generation than us, the Millenials. We do work hard, because we are aware of the serious aspects of life. Yet we want to bind ourselves with other human beings matching to us and finally, yes, we see the value in founding our own family at a young age (despite the high quality of life we get to enjoy) and dream of fulfilling the dream of an own house if possible. We do not curse traditional traits just like it is not about fun and easy-going for us. The way of life, socialization as well as finding ourselves is enough of a struggle to start with a major part of our development. Still it makes us wonder, why do the decision-makers hate us such much to burden us with stones in our way? What is the point of demonizing us falsely instead of supporting us as the generation of hope? How do they imagine things to get handled once might not be there any longer? It is not fair to consider us lazy, distracted, unable and many more of no-good just because we prefer to use our brains more than we might use our hands as it is always yelled at us.

We want to and theoretically can (no, as well practically could) have a work-life-balance between a private fulfilled life and a making a business (keeping on) work. But somehow it seems like the babyboomers do not begrudge us to have this luxury. They probably would not even tolerate new or different ways of thinking. Is it such a crime to progress in favor of a better life and world? Us, the Millenials are full of potential more than being a generation of hope. It is not like we want to relax on the hard work our parents thankfully did but there are things we want to do on our own and dynamic, more world open and intuitive way and the last we could need by that would be a clash of generations out of tired minds. Babyboomers, stop keeping the door closed and have some faith in what is to come.

It is time for us the Millenials to take on the lead for innovation. We are capable of more in our diversity than you can imagine.

New Grunge: Y2K

Grunge is back – if it could have actually been gone at some point as also this style is some kind of a lifestyle for a large group of people as a contrast to the Chanel-style, which I presented in my last article here. The grunge style is known for its key items, fabrics and cuts such as wide shapes, torn denim, patches, leather, a baggy style, dark berry lipstick and on the whole a very casual, (glam) rocky yet rather dark and gloomy kind of an 80s/90s everything-is-allowed-vintage style. Famous fashion idols would have probably been Christina Applegate in her role as Kelly Bundy in “Married with Children”, the Halliwell-sisters from “Charmed” or Eric Forman’s group of friends from “That 70s Show”.

It is like all these epochs have been based on each other to create the ultimate Grunge style. Because the trend of the “new Grunge” as it is called is leaning on the style that is also known as Y2K. The gamers/nerds among us guess the code correctly that it is standing for the early 2000s (year 2-thousand that was replaced by the unit “k” for kilo describing a number of four).
