Upper Eastside Chic #3: Artful Print T-Shirts – At The Alstertal Food Festival

Hello my beloved readership,

the upper Eastside chic number three offers a quite casual alternative to all the sophisticated styles so far with an artful print t-shirt. See how to style it.

From Thursday 27.06.2024 until Saturday 29.06.2024 the so called Food Festival under the motto “Taste Your Local Heroes” took place in the Alstertal shopping center in Hamburg-Poppenbüttel. Three days long food-start-ups from Germany had the chance to present themselves and their product to customers who came there just for the event itself or to people who just passed by and were there anyway. For me personally along with my family it was a 2 in 1 win-win-situation. We regularly visit the AEZ (short for Alstertal Einkaufszentrum, [ENG: shopping center]) since you get there very well and quick by car always find a place to park your car in the large parking-lot-system, can do grocery- and drug store shopping, have on the whole a great variety of shopping- and dining-opportunities and foremost you are independent from the weather and our children enjoy playing there unlike the city center. However in all praising I would also like to note two things:
Dear AEZ-team,
it cannot be that parents who are sitting to look after their children playing at destined place on the bottom floor regularly get attacked with water bombs or similar things from above. It is disgusting, I do not always want to unnecessarily invest money in new clothes and also this can hurt or make you sick if you stay wet for a longer period. When I am with my little child I cannot grab everything and immediately run to look for the responsible person or worse leave my child alone. I once witnessed another visitor of your center becoming a victim to this and two weeks later it happened to me.
Secondly I do not see why I should look for another parking with my little children and take the risks connected with it when old people are taking the parents-children-parking from me right under my nose. I cannot change their brazenness but I do in fact expect you to make sure these parkings stay free when needed by a responsible security. These two incidents ruin my whole shopping experience eventually from the very beginning and it is also sad for my children even if this is not covered by law.

But enough of the negative and back to the food-paradise in pink. The stands of the food festival along with totally pretty decoration were set on the ground floor. In front of the Perfumery Douglas there was the main spot which you can as well take as your starting point. There you can not only take a souvenir photo, which you will get transferred on your phone and also get as printed version, on a large swing but also start to taste yourself from the start-ups. You had established German start-ups such as Dunkin Donuts from Berlin with a homemade ice-tea as well as total new comers like Olfs Hot Spize who offered spicy sauces with a piece of bread. Then again you had the start-ups who could also prove themselves already on the big television screens by closing a deal in the German version of Shark Tank, Die Höhle der Löwen. This one was HASELHERZ who closed a deal with “Mister Shelf” Ralf Dümmel. As you see you had the whole variety of food and drinks. My personal highlight was the big presentation and tasting with no one less than the star-cook from Hamburg Cornelia Poletto who was also my mentor in the show “Die Küchenschlacht”. She noticed me ahead of the tasting, seemingly happy to see me and I was happy to have the opportunity to introduce my husband and my children to her.

Basically you can sum up the Alstertal Food Festival under the sign of sugar-free, sugar-reduced or sugar-replaced with natural sweeteners as well as less calories. Which made me burn even more for the products offered. Another thing that gains importance is fair-trade, which would justify you paying more for good products which you can contribute charity to as well as do well for your body and health even in times of economical crisis. Some products I want to additionally name here are Cup Verde (my saviors with their great coffee), Anderkraft, bee.neo and Gartmann chocolate. I am looking forward to the Food Festival next year and wish the start-ups all the best in their growth.

Trend: Artful Print T-Shirts

What t-shirt could be more artful than one by a fashion designer themselves who are illustrating the drafts of their fashion-arts on it? This is my highlight of the large variety of artful print t-shirts by Tallinn Dolls. The t-shirt includes the name of the label along with silhouettes wearing different designs in different colors. These colors create the core of the whole color-palette that you can imagine. What makes this t-shirt so special and lifts it up from any other t-shirt is that it looks like you just painted and created art right on the t-shirt itself. This is what this trend is about and categorizes it to the upper-Eastside-style. Lately I was inspired to wear a Tallinn Dolls t-shirt casually chic with mochasins (in exchange to sneakers) and a passive black tulle-skirt in midi-length. Thanks to the t-shirt offering a large variety of colors I transferred the art that this t-shirt is bearing to my overall look including colors in my make-up and spicy fashion with style in my accessories. Perfect for the occasion I would say.
