Buffy sends her regards! The vampire slayer already slayed the it-piece in the 1990s. Now the leather-coat is celebrating a revival on the catwalks.

Someone who is very dear to me had a friend they always admired and enjoyed to hang out with. Eventually we got to know the friend’s family and it seemed like we would share similar values and have the same point-of-view and so also we got closer in touch and became something you could call friends. Obstacles that affected both the friends however prove the opposite: many long calls that were supposed to relax a heavy situation turned out to cause heavier cases. So it happened that I was exposed more and more by that someone whom I recognized as a friend. Eventually a neutral person stepped in asking me for a personal meeting. I firstly did not see why I should have been the one to come for a meeting when it was me being the actual victim in this story. The person explained to me that they wanted to avoid me feeling bad when me, that person I considered a friend and many others were to meet in a bigger group. Already shortly before that I noticed that it got silent between me and that person I called a friend. I can even tell you more. The exact time when the contact fell apart was after we had one of these calls. This one however seemed to have left them speechless. Anyway the time was passing and we still invited them to the person I hold dear. That person came with the friend of my person. I noticed the rather distant and tensed atmosphere between us and, yes, I was right. In the end we opened up about that topic and I touched their shoulder assuring that we are friends. But the worst was yet to come. When finally that meeting took place and it was about to be decided who would be chosen a speaker in this group an already heated up situation because of different opinions heated up more up to the point when this person whom we shortly before that even gifted with something from the bottom of our heart screamed and me and again humiliated me before a whole group without even finding it necessary to apologize. Never mind they did not only lose their position as dictator, excuse me, previous speaker but also lost their reputation towards the decision-makers.

The moral of this story? I know, it sounds too heavy to be true but you know, I do not tell fairy tales. Secondly, there is no moral: I wanted to point out that hate can meet you in an analogue world just as well as in a virtual world. Hate takes place when people feel threatened and need to put you down. Since my first article here about hate-speech got a little bit too long I needed to make a cut at a certain point and continue somewhere else. What should I say… This story above was a good bad example to portray human hate. It is irrational just as it is arbitrary and aggressive. But I am not so much concerned about myself.

As a mother I am rather afraid for my children to possibly become a victim of this radical hate that has established within the society we live in. I am afraid that I could not be at the right place at the right time to protect my children from evil and hate. What starts with simple words (which can still be powerful as we know from literature) can turn into violence. You do not even necessarily need to have done something wrong. Most of the time you are not even guilty for this aggression. All I want to say and achieve and wish for is violence and hate to stop. We cannot change the people around us but we can start with ourselves.

I remember how this could have already been declared as her working clothes. Basically she was wearing normal, casual clothes but this single leather-coat in blue, red, brown, black and any color you could think of – the main thing is long – gave Buffy portrayed by my highly respected Sarah Michelle Gellar the special something and pimp to create that one bad-ass look. Designers in the world of fashion have created a large variety in cuts and colors of leather-coats. There is one (or thinking of Buffy) many for every taste and each type. However you must consider that a good leather-coat has its price and is a real treasure in your closet that can be passed on from generation to generation once the value of this style is recognized.
