Birthday Nails: On My Mind

Hello my dear readership,

this was not like any other birthday that is why these birthday nails are not like any other nail-art on occasion of my birthday. Find out more about it here.

Usually I always tell a seemingly random story and in the next step I refer to the fashionable part of the article – may it be the look or the nail-art I wear. Talking about nail-art that I wear. I can express a lot with my clothing but I feel like I never set more of a statement than with my nails (considering you know about the deep meaning behind them and yes, often there is a deep meaning in the nail-art I choose since it is nothing you can wipe off and change just like that whenever you want to). In the history of the nail-arts I had you can see it very well here that it is not always about trends. So this time the fashion and the story are very closely connected to each other and I would like to tell you what I have on my mind about this:

My nails had taken up the colors of the company I joined. My first day at work was supposed to be my 30th birthday and guess what, we had booked a trip to Munich but do you know what we did? We cancelled it. I love to travel (probably because the best memories I get to create are abroad and so are the best my best friends) so could you imagine a better birthday for me than travelling? Me neither… But we did. I former boss looked at me with a shock when they asked me about my plans for my birthday and told me that I could have joined the company two weeks later but do you know what? Child’s plays are over. Making sure the existence of my family is save with a job and a salary in insecure times is more important. And I mean in the end we still celebrated a totally nice birthday as family and with friends under a creative motto “favorite travel-destinations”. I loved how everyone went with that flow of the motto-party and how we even succeeded to have an international buffet along with funny games of the motto “travelling”. So yes, growing-up includes to create some kind of responsibility and finding solutions and different ways, especially to accept the winds that fate is blowing in your way and making the best of every situation.

Regardless from how the situation might turn sooner or later. To be continued…

For a special occasion such as the beginning of a new job you also need to have a clean nail-art. Even if no one is looking for the needle in a haystack a clean and tidy appearance in every detail is important in working life. You never know what people are putting their attention on. But especially when you are working a lot with your hands – so as well in the office on the computer clean and tidy hands are an important trademark. There are jobs that do not allow you to put on a fancy nail art such as in healthcare or gastronomy but for office jobs you are in fact free so make sure to bring the best of you especially when it is also your birthday.

Thanks to Hanny Beautiful Nails for the pretty nail-art. Visit their Facebook page here or their Instagram profile here.

Love, Johanna
