Hello my beloved readership,

pink is a statement but for now it is the color of the year 2023 so therefore it is not surprise that I had chosen my holiday-nails in pink. Read the story here.

My aversion to pink has two sources: the first one came from my mother who constantly put me in pink clothes. One day I reached the point where I wanted to be as cool as the women I admired and deliver this statement to the outside (I know, this sounds like some kind of teenage rebellion).
Years later I met the second reason for my aversion to pink: between my legal age and my early 20s I found myself surrounded by girls at my age (+/- 3 years) doing tea-parties or celebrate parties with plastic princess-crowns which you would know from your days as child. I realized how deeply embarrassed I felt when I was part of this total out-of-reality-party thinking about the latter, like do they really mean this? And last but not least I do not want to talk about the popular baby-pink dressed influencers of Instagram crashing your business as hard-working blogger… About the first one, I must admit that I cannot actually tell if it was really the pink that bothered me, my friend who seemed to have changed seemingly radically whom I did not recognize any longer and whom I finally lost at that time (do not worry meanwhile we are as best friends like sisters again, wink) but on the whole this overdose of pink in all shades drove me crazy. I did not want to be like this any longer myself and I could not really stand it in that amount.

Meanwhile I would probably explain this obsession of pink the way that girls or people in general wanted to create a little bit of la dolce vita (the sweet life) around themselves in this pretty negative world. Personally, I had never stopped regarding pink (at least a touch of it) as pretty and sweet as it is the color you also always find it connected with candy and sweets. And the perfect dose as well as mix is the kind of pink I can still live with. I realize and recognize the importance of the meaning of the color pink and what is associated – even if it still is not my favorite color I do see the beauty behind it.
