Introducing: St. Peter am Hart

Hello my beloved readership,

St. Peter am Hart is a village in Upper Austria. Get to know an introduction about the place where priests are educated and see my impressions here.

Down in Upper Austria, in the municipality of Braunau (the place where one of the worst dictators in history, of the 20th century, was born) there lies a little village of forest and farmland. St. Peter am Hart lies approximately 60 km in the north of Salzburg. It has a very beautiful hotel the “Gasthof Berger” (Engl.: Guest House Berger), that offers you a great breakfast, an amazing outdoor swimming pool and a playground for children close to the sports field that is covered by the trees so that you are protected from the hot sun in the middle of July. One meaningful sight you can see in St. Peter am Hart is the Palace Hagenau, where you will find a restaurant nearby and enjoy a very delicious as well as hot pizza. But most of all St. Peter am Hart is a famous place for priests getting educated with a church worth seeing.
Hint: If you are a guest at the Guest House Berger your entry in the outdoor swimming pool is free. Also the staff of the restaurant “Grille” which you can check out here recommends you to sit outside as in the very hot mid-summer you would not survive it inside because of their pizza-oven.

How We Got To St. Peter am Hart

Back in July 2022 our children and myself accompanied my husband to one of his business trips. Before heading to Vienna, the actual reason why we went with him, his trip led us to St. Peter am Hart for one day. In the evening of our arrival we were lucky to discover a documentation about the place of our stay on Austrian television thanks to which we could find out about the special quality it included. Two things I must praise about St. Peter am Hart close to the Inn river is that the people are exceptionally kind and the architecture is very well kept.

St. Peter am Hart: Worth Visiting

As much as I was happy and excited about heading to Vienna I will definitely keep St. Peter am Hart in good memories. I do not know if there would be generally an actual reason to intentionally travel there and stay there for longer than one day but if you were to pass by then you should definitely add it to your bucket list on your road trip.

Love, Johanna
