Hello my beloved readership,
summer is always a travel back in time. As this year we are entering the biggest party the journey is destined to the 90s with not the typical idols.
“The good old times“, as everyone keeps always stating. But were they really as good? Or was it because we were younger and more carefree? As an adult and parent I cannot really approve the argument that the times were better because you always have the same causes of headache at every timeline or as my grandmother keeps saying: each time has its very own hardship. Whether I would wish to be young again? Not really. People may sing songs about youth and carefreeness but it was a really hard and long process to become who I am now and I like what I have produced. Furthermore I want to use the word proud in this context. Besides from that certain factors of my socialisation I would not wish back (which does not mean that I regret them as I have explained in my previous article here).
But what is indeed good and a timeless classic about the times back then are for sure what has left its mark on us. To be more precise in this context the series we have had to not miss at any day – a compulsive viewing. One of these series was “Charmed”, a series about three sisters who learned about their heir of being witches and ever since rereleasing their powers have fought demons and warlocks, in short the evil, to protect innocent ones throughout eight seasons. As generally the women in their line have surnames starting with the letter P the three sisters and one half-sister who later replaced the dead eldest sister are as well named with P. These three sisters are the legendary powerful three.
“Charmed” definitely was not the first TV production and for sure not the only one of its kind accompanied by “Buffy” (starring Sarah M. Gellar) or “Ghost Whisperer” (starring Jennifer L. Hewitt). But “Charmed” was a pioneer series taking up the today widely spread topic of girl power besides obstacles concerning love and within the family. However other than today’s “I-have-to-prove-myself”-anti-men-propagating trash you get to see today “Charmed” had a very elegant way to underline the female strength inside out with all their flaws. Female power is not about putting the other gender down but to show your qualities within the competition. Besides from that the fight of women in society is not as black as it is painted. Even back then the female gender was very much admired this is what women should keep in mind.
“Who would not wish back the 90s with such an individuality and pulsating excitement?”
Fall4Me
Wide Leg, Party Tops, Frosty Eyes, Beach Accessories and a Denim Jacket
Denim all over like Britney Spears, party tops like Christina Aguilera, frosty eyes like J.Lo (Jennifer Lopez) and beach accessories like Hilary Duff. These were the iconic idols of our time – the 90s. Living the same spirit to dress everything but straight with colorful and bright, flared and torn fashion with glitter and gleam according to the motto “More is more” yet underlining their individual character and personality type. Who would not wish back the 90s with such an individuality and pulsating excitement? I do love my black leather and straightness for quick everyday life destinations or wherever I would need to adapt to an average dress code. Nonetheless for special occasions I do as well prefer fancy 90s fashion. I admit, it is real fun jumping into such outfits. The 90s idols I am thinking about wearing this style are the charming witches Prue [Shannen Doherty], Piper [Holly Marie Combs], Phoebe [Alyssa Milano] Halliwell and Paige Matthews [Rose McGowan] from “Charmed” who “have nothing to put on” according to the eldest sister Prue when being asked for robust and high-necked fighting clothes. These ladies have always been stylish on the road when fighting demons and warlocks. The screens were their catwalk and we just loved to watch. Simply iconic.
