Fancy In Fuchsia Out Of Office Suits & Kitten Heels: Lorelai Gilmore

Hello my beloved readership,

It is the color of the interim period: be fancy in fuchsia out of office suits and kitten heels and who could embody this better than Lorelai Gilmore?

She was THE name of our early youth and conquered our hearts up to motherhood so much that back in the days we claimed to have ourselves a mother-daughter-relationship with our mothers such as her and her daughter: Lorelai Girlmore.

For those who do not know her let me briefly introduce her: Lorelai Victoria Gilmore is a fictional character from the early 2000s series “Gilmore Girls”. She is the only daughter to two wealthy parents from Hartford and the mother of the 16 years younger Rory (the nickname fore Lorelai) Lee Gilmore [Important quote from the series: “She doesn’t look like a daughter and you don’t look like a mother.”, A man to Lorelai in season 1, episode 1]. Due to a youthful imprudence with her school-love the intelligent and talented Lorelai became pregnant and decided to keep the child at the cost of cancelling school and further education. As she felt misunderstanding by her parents and no support she left her parental house with a letter to the 100 kilo meters far fictional town Stars Hollow, where she had found a new family with all the residents, worked her way from a chambermaid to the general manager of the hotel to finally co-owner of her own hotel and with that fulfilled herself a dream and founded a new home for her daughter and herself.

Lorelai may not be faultless but she is bearing her heart at the right spot taking responsibility for her mistakes, having a good feeling for justice and of what is right and what is wrong and making the best of every situation. In the end she is just human and develops further with every experience and most of all she would do anything for her beloved daughter even if that means to throw her principles aboard.

What I admire most about Lorelai is the way she sees things and how it affects her life; in a very positive way. She is always in the mood for fun and jokes, never lets anyone tease her, instead she teases the others, even if she is embittered she remains friendly with a smile on her face. She can get enthusiastic about the smallest and most simple things. This comparably young woman is more of the friend-type but in the end she would never hesitate to say no or hold a telling-off. However above all what matters is that Lorelai has this very special ability of being positive in a youthful way as main character trait and even if she sometimes may annoy me I can say for sure that I take aim to become at least a mother like her.

Keep Yourself Your Youthful Attitude

Pink in its strongest shade fuchsia is commonly known as the color of virginity and the color every girl dives into even at full age to keep her girlishness and to keep herself her youthful attitude. Because of its origin girls as well as women are branded with this color (but more about that in another article). Pink is shocking nearly electrifying and not exactly what you would call an color for the cold, rainy and gloomy autumn but exactly because the transition to the cold season is not really the most beautiful or pleasant one it is important to keep yourself the girlish innocent naivety to see the good in everything bad and face it with a positive energy. This season pink can be combined with either red or orange to strengthen these pink-red-feels.
