polka dots never come alone, so does not a “How I Met Your Mother”-episode where you do not learn about a new principle or song that turns to an anthem. All these single principles come together as one whole “How I Met Your Mother”-principle in real life just like many polka dots create a pretty trendy outfit.

“How I Met Your Mother” is a term to you right? What was it not we have not been introduced to over nine seasons and adapted to our real life like making someone realise we observe them with to fingers, agreeing with “no can dosville baby doll” or making songs our anthem when heading to the mall today or coming to senses that nothing suits us like a suit. But what was it that took place according to the script of five friends and a bar as meeting-point? They played pretend to live the life with everyday ups and downs, picking up (for that time) current topics like Googling strangers we are dating and making them become a lecture or mantra of life.

Does that not remind you of something? You do not have to be a fan of these series to realise the phenomenon but what is true is that we all have this one friend with whom we are reinventing the world, habits that become established by demonstrating them strong or long enough and emphasise current topics experimenting them ourselves? I like to call this phenomenon the “How I Met Your Mother”-principle. The series were probably not the harbinger of this phenomenon but we come back seeing the connection in the habit and the series. When I started getting into the series finally some months ago and almost a decade after the hype was long over I did recognise many things about my husband and told him each time latest after work “I KNOW WHERE YOU HAVE THIS HABIT FROM!”

Every Dot Stands for one Rule

One polka dot does not make a pattern and one act does not picture this huge gift called life. It is this many adventures we have experienced, the numerous days that give us the chance to and the different habits we adapt to just like babies. These cute little treasures imitate everything they see after soaking it like a sponge. While polka dots fill a simple black board with light imagine that each polka dot is an episode which is filled with another habit, anthem or current theme that will leave its eternal trance on us at the beginning of the new year.
