Hello my dear readership,
as the days are getting colder fashion is getting rougher and stricter and old classics are returning domination the world of fashion such as the classy check-pattern-mix. This calls for honoring a woman who perfectly portrays the idea of this. At the end of this article you will just understand the following: be like… Prue Halliwell.
As a child you sat or were sat on TV for entertainment or distraction to remain calm while your parents could relax from their rough everyday-life or take care for the household. Now that you are a parent yourself of a little baby television is your best friend and constant company to keep you awake and going until your husband arrives or your mom calls to pass by… just kidding.
But it is true, within a little bit more than 16 months of motherhood I have watched quite a lot of series because as I grew I have created personal issues with messy situations such as watching episodes of series of which I have not watched all randomly since I feel like I am getting lost without connections. One of these series was “Charmed” (1998-2006), do I need to say more? Three sisters, brunette heroines, witches, “the power of three”, “the Book of Shadows”… I do not… I know as you have already just read the title of the series and the title of this article you jumped up of your chair screaming “of course!” reliving the hype as well as your youth. Welcome to my world.
Someone I would like to make stand out is the oldest sister Prue Halliwell portrayed by no one less than the 90s Beverly Hills icon Shannen Doherty. Prue Halliwell was not only the oldest, she was also the strongest sister and probably the one to be known as the most fearless. Her reservedness, strong determination, discipline and directness made her an infamous yet respected person. Equally her corresponding actress Shannen was known to be fierce as well as someone to raise her voice. I do not know Shannen personally but as my brother expressed it: “Piper was […], Alyssa Milano […] and Shannen Doherty was in the Playboy magazine. You see?”
“Shannen Doherty is what men want to see and woman want to be.”
Shannen Doherty is what men want to see and woman want to be: A proud and strong woman with all her iconic beauty and attractiveness with principles who is all alone stronger than an army of 100 men and who is not burning without fire – or as her muse taught us: nothing happens for a reason. Probably misunderstood in the past for those who blindly follow the mainstream opinion but one with good intentions and an ideal for raising her voice. I really recognize a lot of her in myself…
Old Classics: Stylish and Formative
When Prue’s character died at the end of season three her legacy remained so among others one of her most characteristic style items: the classy tailored leather-jacket. It was Prue Halliwell who wore it throughout her three seasons with such a sovereignty that she made me pick this item I found in my mother’s wardrobe as one of my most favorite ones meanwhile. It may not be about this leather jacket today but about something as classy and iconic: check pattern autumn’s best friend. This year it reaches its next level fusioning with flannel and shows that despite its strictness it is a pattern to fall in love with. So it is with one of our beloved actresses from the good old days: Shannen and Prue may have seemed strict and unapproachable but actress as well as muse are bearing a lot of emotions and love in themselves. Those who stand loyal to her know that and therefore get inspired and impressed by her until today.
